In partnership with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Capital Good Fund has been a Volunteer Income Tax Assitance (VITA) site since 2010. In this role we:
- recruit and train volunteers with help from the IRS
- quality review every tax return
- ensure volunteers only prepare the returns that are within the scope of the program
- prepare and efile the Federal and State tax returns ALL FOR FREE - no hidden fees of any kind
- use refund direct deposit to get you your refund generally in 7-10 days - sometimes less when you wire it to your bank account
- promote tax credits such as the Higher Education tax credits and deductions, Dependent Care Credit, RI Property Tax Relief Credit and EITC

Bring with you to your appointment:
- a photo ID and social security cards for you and your dependents
- all of your W-2 and 1099 tax forms for 2011
- information for other income
- information for any deductions or credits - like tuition statements, rent receipts, mortgage statement
- a voided check
